Eastern Kentucky University Ready to Continuously Improve with Blue, Bluepulse, and Blue Text Analytics

Montreal, Canada – July 14, 2015 – Eastern Kentucky University’s (EKU) Office of e-Campus Learning has selected Blue as its powerful assessment system to manage, administer, and automate course evaluations and surveys. In addition to Blue, EKU has acquired Bluepulse, the adaptive social feedback tool, and Blue Text Analytics (BTA) in order to comprehensively assess teaching and learning.

As an institution dedicated to academic excellence, the university requires a suite of products that can generate actionable insights to drive continuous improvement. With Blue’s advanced reports, the institution is able to track key performance indicators in course evaluation and survey data to measure progress. Adding BTA to the mix, EKU can obtain a complete data picture by quickly processing and analyzing thousands of qualitative comments. Through BTA, the university will be able to uncover hidden insights and themes in open-ended feedback to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

“We are excited about what the future holds with our partnership with Explorance.  With Blue, we’re confident we can achieve new heights in our course evaluation processes by supporting our online faculty’s desire for continuous improvement,” says Tim Matthews, Executive Director, Office of e-Campus Learning at Eastern Kentucky University. “Explorance will provide us with much needed flexibility to accommodate departmental needs like program accreditation and faculty benchmarking. In particular, the Blue Text Analytics feature will enable us to hone in on important trends that provide faculty with helpful insights important to student success.”

Focusing on engagement, Eastern Kentucky University will leverage Bluepulse to help achieve its strategic goal of maximizing student outcomes. With the tool, the institution can instill a culture of continuous improvement in the classroom and strengthen the instructor/student relationship. Through daily student feedback, EKU will gather insights to help guide teaching effectiveness and student learning. “Our online faculty and administration embrace continuous feedback as key to continuous improvement, and we believe Bluepulse can provide an effective means for identifying areas where we can enhance instructor strategies and take responsive action that contributes to student learning.”
