La Trobe University Expands Investment in Blue with BTA and Bluepulse

Montreal, Canada – August 12, 2016 – Ranked one of Times Higher Education’s most international universities of 2016, La Trobe University has decided to further invest in Blue by adding Bluepulse and Blue Text Analytics (BTA).

A long standing Blue customer, La Trobe has witnessed an increase in the volume of qualitative comments collected on teaching and learning surveys. Using BTA, they will further leverage their investment by quickly analyzing thousands of open-ended comments and converting them into meaningful themes. This will enable the university to unlock new analysis points and uncover hidden insights, all of which can be used to inform strategic decision-making.

Focused on improving the teaching and learning experience, La Trobe will use Bluepulse to gather ongoing formative feedback from students. By collecting daily anonymous comments from students, instructors will be able to make real-time improvements to accelerate learning. This will help the university improve teaching practices, increase student success rates, as well as measure the effectiveness of learning interventions.

A multi-campus public research institution in Australia, La Trobe University offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses across five major faculties. Its main campus, located in Melbourne, is the largest metropolitan campus in the country. In its 2015–16 league table Times Higher Education ranked La Trobe as 12th in Australia for teaching, 11th for research, and 13th for industry income.
