University of Strathclyde appoints Explorance to provide student module evaluation systems

Release date: 25th July 2019

The University of Strathclyde, which has over 1,900 staff in academic or teaching roles and 22,000 students, has appointed Explorance to supply student module evaluation systems.

John Atherton, Higher Education Sales Director (UK & Ireland) at Explorance, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be appointed by the University of Strathclyde and have the opportunity to support the institution in the next phase of its student module evaluation systems. We are rapidly growing in the UK, and have already established impactful long-term partnerships with Aberdeen, Durham, Kingston, Liverpool John Moores and Loughborough universities, and are looking forward to developing a similar relationship with Strathclyde. We pride ourselves in helping universities to improve teaching and learning through the way they capture, analyse and respond to student feedback. We provide formative feedback, which gives lecturers the opportunity to seek feedback through bespoke, non-standard questions, during a module; and summative evaluation surveys at the end of semester; which provides standardisation on questions enabling comparisons across the institution.”

Brian Green, Deputy Associate Principal for Teaching and Learning at the University of Strathclyde, added that he was excited about the partnership with Explorance and its anticipated impact: “The University is committed to a first-class student experience as part of our overall approach to high-quality teaching and learning.”

In July 2019 Explorance was appointed by APUC (Advanced Procurement for Universities & Colleges) to a multi-supplier UK education sector framework for the supply of student module evaluation systems and associated services to the Higher Education and Further Education institutions of Scotland. The framework agreement is also open to member institutions within the UK universities procurement consortia meaning they too can use the framework and have the option to appoint Explorance directly as the ranked number one supplier through APUC.
