Victoria University (Australia) chooses Explorance for surveys and course evaluation needs

Montreal, Canada – August 3, 2012 – Victoria University (Australia), the 8th largest full time post secondary institution in Australia, has chosen Explorance Inc. for administering surveys and course evaluations.

Victoria University had previously developed an in-house on-line student evaluation survey (SES) system which included complex interfaces to a legacy student management system. This legacy system had been replaced and to replicate the interface with SES would require substantial development effort at an increased risk cost to maintain. Moreover, since the old system was achieving a low satisfaction level, the university’s Project Board made the decision to consider off-the-shelf alternatives, the best of which was determined to be Blue by Explorance.

“After an investigation of potential solutions and a trial of the Blue solution from Explorance, Blue has been identified as the solution that best meets VU’s requirements,” states Jeff Chetcuti of the Program Management Office at Victoria University . “Explorance Inc has proposed delivery of a fully hosted and maintained integrated solution to manage both on-line and paper-based surveys, together with management reporting. The proposal includes the use of the ABBYY data capture tool for paper-based surveys.”

Victoria University (VU) is a multi-sector institution (higher education and TAFE) offering short courses, as well as qualifications in vocational education (TAFE) and higher education. With a full time enrollment of over 50,000 students enrolled at various campuses, primarily located in the western region of Melbourne (Australia) and at a variety of international sites, VU’s teaching, training, research, scholarship and partnerships are locally relevant and globally significant.
