What can Students Contribute to Assessment and Improvement of Teaching Quality?

University of Saskatchewan’s Journey from Student Evaluation of Teaching to Student Learning Experience Feedback

Presenter:
Nancy Turner, PhD, Director Teaching and Learning Enhancement, University of Saskatchewan

In recent years, there has been an increased focus on student evaluations of teaching and its applications. These kinds of evaluations, also referred to as course evaluations and ratings of instructions, are increasingly being employed in the Higher Education context. However, the purpose and application of these evaluations are often the subject of debate and can vary wildly. This webinar details how the University of Saskatchewan transitioned towards a repurposed approach in using this kind of feedback, how changes were managed, and how this new strategy was positively applied towards assessing teaching quality.
