Northern Illinois University to Enhance Teaching & Learning with Blue Course Evaluations and Text Analytics

Montreal, Canada – September 4, 2015 – Northern Illinois University (NIU) has selected Blue as its all-in-one assessment system to fully automate, administer, and manage institution-wide course evaluations. In addition, the school has acquired Blue Text Analytics (BTA) in order to make sense of qualitative data.

After a thorough investigation of solutions in the market, NIU chose Blue for its sophistication and advanced feature set. For course evaluations, the university requires a highly integrated solution that can automate processes and provide detailed reports. With Blue, NIU is able to leverage existing data, synchronize information, and automate workflows by integrating the system seamlessly with PeopleSoft and Blackboard Learn™. Leveraging Blue’s advanced reporting engine, the institution can view real-time results, generate a variety of report types to meet stakeholder needs, and track improvement over time.

Using BTA in conjunction with course evaluations, the university can gain a deeper understanding of student feedback. Through BTA, NIU can quickly process and analyze thousands of open-ended comments and organize them into meaningful themes. This will enable the school to add hundreds of new analysis points and uncover hidden insights, all of which can be used to further enhance the teaching and learning experience.
