Explorance Partners with Stockholm University of the Arts to Provide Institution-wide Course Evaluation System

Montreal, Canada – December 11, 2020 – Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH), which provides specialist education and research in the fields of circus, dance, dance pedagogy, film, media, opera, performing arts, and acting, has appointed Explorance to deliver a system for course evaluations across the institution.

With around 190 full-time employees and about 450 full-time students, SKH was seeking an “evaluation system that can be used for various surveys, both for staff and students at programs and courses” as part of a competitive tender. Specific requirements included integration into Canvas, SKH’s digital platform for courses, the ability to handle surveys and reports in both Swedish and English, and a range of needs in terms of the survey design.

Helena Hallgren Lönn, Director of the Educational Administration Department at SKH, said: ”We are really pleased to be working with Explorance, which met every requirement we had. An important factor for us is that Blue can be integrated into our learning platform, Canvas. The University needed the ability to compose a survey through set compulsory questions and specific questions for individual courses, as well as the possibility to set up questions with fixed answer alternatives and questions with answers written in free text. It also had to be possible to respond to surveys anonymously, and for the reports to be available at a group level and an aggregated level as well as to respondents themselves,” she continued. ”Blue is the perfect solution to meet the institutional needs we have, linked to one of the commitments in our 2020-23 strategic plan to provide student-centred learning, encouraging students to actively influence their studies and educational environment.”

John Atherton, Explorance’s General Manager – Europe and Africa, added: “SKH is a leading arts university, and we are looking forward to supporting them with the specific opportunities they have identified to improve their approach to survey administration. From an Explorance perspective, we are also really pleased to be working with another institution in Sweden as we seek to extend our reach in Europe and beyond.”

Having been awarded the contract, Explorance is currently implementing its Blue course evaluation system to be operational in January 2021.
