Charles Darwin University Acquires Blue Text Analytics to Improve Student Engagement

Montreal, Canada – December 16, 2015 – Building on Explorance’s product presence in the Australasia region, Charles Darwin University (CDU) has acquired Blue Text Analytics (BTA) to analyze and report on qualitative data captured through student feedback.

A Blue Course Evaluation user since 2012, CDU requires a text analytics tool that can easily process thousands of vital open-ended comments and organize them into purposeful themes. With BTA, the university can unlock hundreds of new analysis points that they can compare/contrast with quantitative and SIS data. BTA’s theme-based dictionary enables them to make sense of idioms, local expressions, typos and other language patterns that reflect how students communicate. Leveraging Blue’s powerful reporting engine, the university can quickly convert qualitative data into flexible reports which can be used to gain a more complete picture of student feedback.

Located in Australia’s Northern Territory, Charles Darwin University is a multi-campus, multi-sector institution with a student population of 23,000. International and local students can choose from over 200 traineeships, apprenticeships, diplomas and certificate programs. Ranked in the top 2% of the Times Higher Education World Universities list, CDU also has a five-star rating for research from the Good Universities Guide.
