From EFM to TEM – Adapting to Market Evolution

Written by Samer Saab, CEO Explorance.

Today, Samer Saab, CEO of Explorance, announced the introduction of an evolutionary new framework referred to as Training Experience Management (TEM). Read the following blog post to get more about the concept and how it represents a shift from enterprise feedback management (EFM).

Today, we are announcing a new non-proprietary framework, one that reflects our identity: Training Experience Management (TEM).

Back in 2003, when Explorance was founded, we were part of a limited group of Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM) software providers. Our earlier commitment to EFM as a concept reflected a time when it was essential to evangelize the importance of listening to stakeholders as a generic commitment, through technology. As feedback culture became a widely leveraged ingredient in every organization’s quest for excellence, an underlying need for market adaptation came to light.

Since 2006, at Explorance we have focused on serving the needs of training organizations of all kinds, everywhere. We committed to providing them with the necessary tools for training experience benchmarking, measurement and continuous improvement. A better training experience leads to a more effective and well adapted delivery of knowledge, skills and competencies to students.

The deeper we delved into the world of training experience, the more we understood how different and more complex of an environment it is, especially when compared to traditional vendor-customer organizations. At that point, we also understood that EFM was simply not enough to keep up with the evolution in the space. This evolution is driven by fast morphing technological challenges, market trends and firming stakeholder expectations. Those stakeholders are many, for example in higher education it includes many internal stakeholders such as deans, provosts, CIOs, department chairs, faculty, supporting staff, researchers, and students, as well as multiple external stakeholders, such as applicants, content providers, alumni, employers, and governments.

The need for a guiding framework that enables training organizations to implement a process that warrants meeting return on expectations is real and timely. As training outcomes can easily shape generations to come, and impacts companies, markets, economies and society, the stakes are higher than ever. This notion is recently supported by the conclusion of a recent G20 Training Strategy report issued by the International Labour Organization.

Today, at Explorance, we are well on the way towards offering a complete array of evolutionary TEM solutions to all training organizations. We have implemented hundreds of feedback driven improvement initiatives at hundreds of organizations. We have done so with an unrelenting commitment to innovation in a market where such commitment is culture. We continue to foster a culture of continuous improvement within training organizations, and that with one goal in mind: an “elevated training experience” for all.
