How Blue Dashboard Opens Up Data Insights to Everyone
Long Hua, VP Product Manager, Blue Analytics at Explorance will take us through this new release. First however, let’s quickly recap on what Blue Dashboard last major update in October 2021 delivered.
Recap: What Does Blue Dashboard Now Offer?
Aggregate Dashboard – The Aggregate Dashboard has become the space to analyze results at the organizational unit level. With core statistics, trend analyses, breakdowns, and smart confidentiality filtering, stakeholders in every level of the organization can safely explore and make data driven decisions in one feedback friendly environment.
Individual Dashboard – The existing module of Instructor Feedback Dashboard (IFD) has been renamed as the Individual Dashboard and is still the primary dashboard viewed by instructors. The responses displayed in this module belong to the courses taught by a specific instructor, who is also the dashboard viewer.
Dynamic Role Access for Aggregate Feedback Dashboards – To ensure Aggregate Dashboard users only access relevant data according to their function or role, you may incorporate your organizational roles and governance rules in the Blue Aggregate Dashboard. Users belonging to a specific org unit will only be able to access that unit and that sub-unit’s data, if users change positions and roles within the organization, their access to relevant data will change dynamically.
Assorted New Functionality – Blue Dashboard now offers a data selection function to filter data, improved statistics visibility within the Dashboard, better time-range options, an enhanced course list page, and the preservation of dashboard access post-upgrade – among many other improvements.
January 2022 – What’s New in Blue Dashboard 3.1.0?
Dashboard Support for 360-Degree Projects – The new ability to toggle between two modes. One mode supports subject pairing projects including secondary subject optional projects (course evaluations). The other mode supports subject only projects (360 reviews).
Dashboard User Preferences – Bookmarks, default statistics, displayable statistics, and course list can be saved for each dashboard user.
Dashboard Breadcrumbs – The back button has been superseded by dashboard breadcrumbs which supply an improved navigation experience.
Support for Multiple Rater Groups / Virtual Groups – Data can be filtered by respondent group. Multiple rater groups can be combined into a virtual respondent group, and respondent groups that have just a few responses can be excluded by using the minimum respondent threshold.
Dashboard Now Speaks Four New Languages – Hebrew, Polish, Slovak, Bahasa Malaysia as well as 25 more languages are now selectable in Blue Dashboard.

Hi Long! One of the standout aspects of this new release is the provision of Dashboard Support for 360-Degree Projects.
Long: Yes, we’re happy to now deliver this functionality, which will be especially useful for those organizations that are engaged in, or considering, 360-review projects. We believe this will help open the door to viewing and making use of crucial data – ultimately making things much easier for the stakeholders involved. This provision was driven by a corporate use-case – the kind of environment where 360-degree feedback assessments can be particularly effective.
How would you describe the overall focus of this update?
Long: There has been a lot of focus on UI / UX improvements with this update, which you will see from the listed updates above. We understand how important this is to users, as they are familiarizing themselves with the use of this powerful new tool.
Accessibility, overall, is very important to us, and we hope to deliver certification news regarding Blue Dashboard in the coming months. We understand that accessibility certification is an important requirement for many institutions.
I assume this focus on UI / UX will ultimately help users get the very best of out of what is very powerful tool, but that one can produce a lot of data.
Long: That’s correct. With Blue Dashboard, we’re providing a tool that isn’t limited to top-level leadership or data scientists. This is a solution that can serve an audience across the spectrum, helping to make the process of exploring data to be simple. This release provides even more refinement with the mainstream user in mind – providing access to analytics for everyone.
This week’s release of Blue Dashboard 3.1 comes to us almost exactly three months after the landmark release of 3.0.
Long: That’s right. This is our ongoing goal for the Blue Dashboard – to provide a minor release on a regular basis going forward. These will round up the new capabilities and functionality that we’re continually delivering for this tool.
