Indiana University Selects Blue to Automate Course Evaluations System-Wide

Montreal, Canada – March 2, 2016 – Following a successful implementation of Blue at four campuses (IUB, IUSB, IUPUC, and IUPUI), the Indiana University (IU) system has decided to further their commitment and has selected Blue to automate course evaluations system-wide. This means that Blue will fully automate, administer, and centralize course evaluations at seven campuses.

“Indiana University selected Blue software to support our course evaluations needs in a large, decentralized University environment,” commented Tally Thrasher, Director of Purchasing Administration at Indiana University.

With a combined student body of more than 100,000, IU requires a flexible solution that can synchronize with each campus’ unique needs. Blue will leverage existing IT infrastructure including Canvas and PeopleSoft, ensuring a seamless connection with enrollment data. Each campus will be able to embed Blue course evaluations directly into their portals to increase accessibility and student engagement. With support for single sign-on authentication, Blue will work with Indiana University’s SSO, CAS, allowing users to log in to one site and access numerous web applications without the need log in again.

In order to meet IU’S diverse needs, Blue’s powerful reporting engine will enable each campus to generate a variety of report types. Content can be tailored to different levels of the institutions including campus-wide, or by faculty, department, instructor, course, etc. Using Blue’s advanced features, each campus is equipped to handle complex assessments such as cross-listed and team taught courses, as well as evaluate courses with different start/end dates. Administrators will also be able to monitor student participation through real-time results and track improvement over time with historical analysis.

The Indiana University system is a public university system that is made up of eight campuses around the state. IU’s flagship campus is Indiana University Bloomington and has world-leading research facilities in Bloomington and Indianapolis. With many national and international distinctions, faculty excellence is at the heart of IU’s ability to succeed. In 2009, Professor Elinor Ostrom became the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Economics.
