RMIT University Selects Bluepulse to Enhance the Student Experience

Montreal, Canada – November 27, 2014 – The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University has selected Bluepulse™ to improve the teaching and learning experience and evaluate a variety of student services.

RMIT University actively adopts innovative solutions that improve its programs and services, teaching effectiveness, and student retention to remain a leader in education. In the competitive education landscape, improving the student experience and raising engagement are vital – something the university is tackling head on with Bluepulse. To complement its suite of Blue applications, RMIT has acquired Bluepulse to obtain real-time student feedback to enhance the student and instructor relationship.

Bluepulse is an adaptive learning platform that will enable the institution to increase both student and faculty engagement while collecting daily insights for improvement. RMIT students will have an opportunity to anonymously voice their opinions and witness firsthand how their suggestions will impact the classroom experience. For instructors, Bluepulse will provide them with actionable improvement insights that they can leverage to gain a better understanding of student learning gaps. “By facilitating direct communication between teachers and students and providing accessible data, Bluepulse enables instructors to better understand and address students’ expectations,” says Professor Geoffrey Crisp, Dean of Learning and Teaching, Academic Portfolio, RMIT University.

In addition to teaching and learning excellence, RMIT will leverage Bluepulse to assess a number of its student services. As a live feedback mechanism, Bluepulse is ideal for capturing students’ opinions on-the-spot about the services they have received. “As a global university of technology and design with in excess of 82,000 students, it is essential that we connect with students using technology that is a leader in its field. In addition to gathering timely feedback on the learning and teaching experience, we equally wish to understand and improve the relationship between students and services – be it administration, the built environment, online services or specialised services for students,” says Tim Brennan, Senior Manager, Survey Services Centre, RMIT University. “Bluepulse achieves this: it is both social and dynamic allowing us to capture feedback in real time for the implementation timely initiatives.”

Founded in 1887, RMIT University is Australia’s largest tertiary institution and a global leader of technology and design. Internationally renowned for excellence, RMIT is ranked in the top 15 of Australian universities (2013 QS World University Rankings) and has a 5-Star Qs ranking. With three campuses in Melbourne, two in Vietnam, and programs throughout the world, the university is Australia’s most internationalized institution. Home to over 82,000 students, RMIT is known for excellence in work-relevant education, high quality research, and engagement with the needs of industry and community.
