Explorance Meets and Exceeds Accessibility Standards for Feedback Management Software

Explorance – Quebec – Canada – June 21, 2011 – Explorance, a leading provider of enterprise feedback management (EFM) software, announced today that the latest release of Blue has been certified as meeting and surpassing Web accessibility standards in the U.S., Canada, and beyond.

As the creator and provider of the Explorance Blue enterprise feedback management solutions, Explorance aims to make its solutions easy to use for everyone, including those with disabilities and difficulties.

The Blue suite, which includes Blue/Surveys, Blue/360, and Blue/Evaluation for course evaluations, was certified to be compliant with three standards: the American Disabilities Act (ADA) Section 508, the Government of Canada’s Treasury Board (CLF 2.0), and W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA (which guarantees compliance with many other groups, such as Ontario’s AODA and emerging government and corporate standards from Australia to Norway to the Arabian Gulf).

The software was tested for conformance and certified by David Berman Communications, a world-renowned consultant on accessibility standards.

“It’s rare that we get to work with a private sector client as committed to both the spirit and the details of accessible coding as Explorance. From training to testing to remediation, their long-term commitment to accessibility has been exemplary,” says David Berman.

Explorance’s commitment to accessibility can be seen in their extensive development efforts. The software and services provider spent near 15 months in development to ensure a seamless experience for everyone, putting their solutions through extensive user testing in addition to compliance testing.

“Explorance is highly committed to creating socially responsible solutions. We consciously pursue new communications tools and methods that allow disabled and impaired people to have their voices heard, so they can actively shape the future,” says Samer Saab, CEO of Explorance. “Our goal is to design accessible sites that are friendly and easy to use, anticipating how new technologies can be shaped to provide a more enriching experience for as many people as possible.”
