Montreal, Canada – February 9, 2017 – The largest university of technology in South Africa, Vaal University of Technology (VUT) has selected Blue to manage its online evaluation process. Key to the university’s decision was Blue’s best-in-class integration with their Learning Management System (LMS) Blackboard Learn as well as its world-class content analysis tool Blue Text Analytics (BTA).
The Blue and Blackboard Learn integration is designed to put institutions like VUT in full control of their evaluation process. In this collaborative ecosystem, students can seamlessly view, access, and complete evaluation forms without ever leaving the Blackboard Learn portal. In order to drive better engagement and participation administrators at VUT can control various functionalities and options for each course in one place (e.g. course block, pop-up reminder, etc.). Live response rate monitoring will also allow instructors to adjust their evaluation strategy mid-stream to achieve the desired result.
By utilizing BTA, Vaal University of Technology will have access to rich text analytics reporting that will assist instructors in uncovering insights hidden in open-ended comments. By converting raw, qualitative data into meaningful themes, BTA enables VUT to easily compare qualitative with quantitative data to discover further trends and patterns. This will add hundreds of new analysis points which can be used to improve the teaching and learning experience.
Established in 2004, Vaal University of Technology is based in southern Gauteng, South Africa. The institutions has an annual enrolment of about 21,000 students from all regions of South Africa as well as 25 other countries. VUT has four campuses and offers 300 programs of study.
