University of Southern Maine Upgrades to the Blue Course Evaluation System

Montreal, Canada – May 19, 2017 – Beginning in summer 2017, the University of Southern Maine (USM) will use the Blue course evaluation system to collect student feedback about their courses and instructors campus-wide.

Blue will seamlessly integrate with USM’s IT systems Blackboard Learn™ (an Explorance partner) and PeopleSoft, enabling them to synchronize data across the university. All primary stakeholders – students, faculty, and administrators – will benefit from an improved user interface and streamlined course evaluation process. Through Blue’s integration with the Blackboard Learn portal the university can ensure better visibility in course evaluations, helping increase participation. A live view of response rate data will give instructors the opportunity to change strategy to encourage participation. Best in its class, the integration also gives administrators more control allowing them to easily customize different functionalities and options for each course in one place.

Part of the University of Maine System, the University of Southern Maine was founded in 1878 and occupies three primary campuses in Portland, Gorham and Lewiston. With an undergraduate enrollment of 6,126, USM offers over 50 majors in more than 100 areas of study and 2,000 courses taught by approximately 245 full time faculty members.
