Moving from a paper process to Blue course evaluations, the University of Sharjah (UoS) has achieved a consistent 90% response rates. The switch has also enabled the university to save over 130,000 pages that were previously printed and distributed for course evaluations.
“We looked at Blue because it has an established reputation in Australia and the US, and when we compared it to other comparable systems, we found it more effective and easier to use,” commented Dr. Esam Agamy, Dean of Quality Assurance, Institutional Effectiveness, and Accreditation at the University of Sharjah.
By partnering with Explorance, the university was able to come up with innovative ways to drive response rates in course evaluations. This includes integrating Blue with their Student Information System Banner® by Ellucian and their Learning Management System Blackboard.
“We are very happy with the support we received from Explorance to help us make this system work,” says Hiba Jadallah, Data Analyst and Blue administrator at Quality Assurance, Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation at UofS. “They worked hard to ensure we could go-live on the expected dates and to respond quickly to our concerns whenever we had any.”
